On April 1, 2026, our newest project was launched, bringing together five organizations from five countries to collaborate on agroecological research aimed at exploring how environmentally friendly farming practices can be more effectively spread across Europe.
The participating countries are Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Türkiye, and Romania.
The central theme of the project is combating drought, which is a severe and increasingly pressing issue in Daia and the surrounding region. In recent years, not only livestock farming and crop production have faced serious challenges here, but disruptions have also been experienced in the village’s drinking water supply.
During the three-year research period, a so-called Living Lab will be established in Daia. With the involvement of renowned experts, a catchment-scale water retention plan will be developed, and local farmers will receive advisory support to help them introduce water-retention agricultural technologies, such as min-tillage farming and rotational grazing.

The REAGRY project is supported by the European Union’s Agroecology Partnership programme.
