We have completed a new film about the climate-conscious organic farm of Fazakas Imre, a farmer from Csíkmadaras.
The film offers insight into a family-run farm where land and knowledge passed down through generations are not set aside, but actively adapted to meet today’s environmental challenges.
Imre practices chemical-free farming, with careful attention to soil health, water management, and animal welfare. Because of the methods presented in the film, his farm was selected as a “European good practice” by the Landcare Europe, a Europe-wide agricultural advisory network. His farm is presented in a standalone English-language profile as well as in a methodological publication released in five languages.
Imre's approach goes beyond individual farm operations, offering practical perspectives on long-term agricultural sustainability. Rather than relying on predefined models, he develops and tests new solutions within his own farm, assuming full responsibility for both risks and outcomes.
This film focuses not on grand promises, but on considered decisions, consistent work, and what responsible farming means today. Imre’s reflections are grounded in lived experience and may provide valuable insight for others exploring more sustainable agricultural practices.
The film was produced with the co-financing of the EUKI programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
The film with English subtitles is available to watch here:
